Permanent life insurance (also known as whole life insurance) remains in force for the entire policyholder's lifetime. The premium amount can be paid up over 20 years, until age 65, or to age 100.
Some plans offer a cash surrender option that allows you to cancel your policy after a number of years and receive a lump-sum tax-free payment. Most plans also have a reduced paid-up option that gives you the option of stopping your payments and reducing your coverage amount. As an added benefit, most of our permanent plans offer a "Best Doctors" service. If you are diagnosed with a critical illness, Best Doctors gives you information about the best medical treatments and experts in your region, country, and the world.
