This Core benefit includes the following coverage:

  1 Acupuncturist, Chiropractor, Osteopath, Naturopath, Chiropodist, Podiatrist, Registered Massage Therapist, Physiotherapist: combined max. of $600 each anniversary year for all 8 of these paramedical specialists, including chiropractic X-rays. This benefit is payable only after your Provincial Health Insurance Plan maximums have been reached, if applicable.  

1 Psychologist: $75 max. for your first visit and $60 max. each subsequent visit for up to 12 visits each anniversary year.

1 Homecare and Nursing, Prosthetic Appliances, Durable Medical Equipment: combined max. of $7,500 each anniversary year. NOTE: $225 max. each anniversary year for Orthotics, which is part of Durable Medical Equipment.

1 Lifeline Personal Response Service: max. of 3 months of service every 3 anniversary years, not including the installation fee. This benefit is for people trying to cope with medical problems at home while living independent lives.

1 Accidental Dental: $3,000 max. each anniversary year.

1 Ambulance: unlimited ground transportation to hospital and $4,000 max. for air ambulance transportation per anniversary year. This benefit is payable only after your Provincial Health Insurance Plan maximums have been reached, if applicable.

1 Hearing Aid: $600 max. every 5 benefit years.

1 CA 125 Test - $75 maximum per person, per anniversary year (Quebec only)

1 Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) - $75 maximum per person, per anniversary year (Quebec only)

1 $250,000 lifetime maximum applies to all Extended Health Care Benefits.
