LifeCare T10 Critical Illness Insurance pays you a lump sum amount of money if you are diagnosed with a life threatening cancer, stroke, heart attack or one of the 21 covered critical illnesses. This plan is designed to keep initial premiums as low as possible with guaranteed level premiums for the first 10 years. The plan may be renewed, at your option, for additional 10 year term periods until you are age 75.

LifeCare T10 Critical Illness Insurance will pay the insured amount if you are diagnosed with one of the following critical illnesses (as defined in your policy):

To receive your critical illness benefit, you must survive for 30 days after you have been diagnosed with a critical illness. If you do not survive for 30 days, your beneficiary will receive a return of premium equal to 100% of base premiums paid (without interest).

How much insurance can I buy?

If you are age 18 to 65, you can buy from $25,000 to $2,000,000 of LifeCare T10 Critical Illness Insurance.

What options do I have to pay premiums?

Premium options include annual or semi-annual payments by cheque and monthly payments by pre-authorized bank debits.

What guarantees exist under this plan of insurance?

  • The premium schedule in your policy is guaranteed not to change for the life of the policy.
  • Satisfaction guaranteed or money refunded – your policy includes a 10 Day Free Look Guarantee that gives you 10 days from the date you receive your policy to review it and decide if it is right for you. If you decide to return your policy in that 10 days, we will refund your premium, no questions asked.

What additional NO COST benefits are included with every LifeCare T10 Critical Illness policy?

Regardless of the cause of death, if you do not qualify for a claim on your policy, your beneficiary receives a refund of all paid premiums on the base plan (without interest). This benefit is included at no extra cost.

Advance Medical – LifeCare policyholders and their spouses, domestic partners and children up to age 18, may be eligible to receive, at no extra cost, complete access to Advance Medical’s Expert Medical Opinion Program. This program provides an authoritative second opinion from some of the world’s leading medical experts.

In addition, your LifeCare T10 Critical Illness policy may include a number of non-contractual member benefits, offered by Foresters Life Insurance Company, the company which underwrites this plan. These benefits may include:
  • competitive scholarships for tuition for higher learning worth up to $8000
  • a renewable higher learning scholarship worth up to $6000 per year for four years for children of deceased members
  • emergency grants to provide short term, temporary financial assistance to members affected by significant personal hardship, disaster or large scale emergency
  • a monthly payment for orphans up to the age of 18 upon the death of both parents
  • money management assistance to provide confidential financial help by accredited counselors
  • legal link, which gives you access to complimentary and discounted legal services, such as wills, home ownership and family law

What additional benefits may be added to my LifeCare T10 Critical Illness policy?

You can add any of the following options to your policy:

  • Disability Waiver – With this benefit, if you become completely and continuously disabled for more than 6 months, your premiums will be waived until you are no longer completely disabled. This benefit ends when you turn 65. This option is available for those ages 18 to 60.

  • Return of Premium (ROP) Rider – At any time after the 10th policy year, you can choose to discontinue paying premiums and enact the Return of Premium (ROP) option where you receive a specified percentage of premiums paid and terminate coverage. If no claim is made to policy expiry, 80% of premiums paid will be refunded.

  • Juvenile LifeCare Rider – All eligible children are covered for one of 13 critical illnesses until the age of 21. Should an eligible child suffer a covered critical illness or undergo a covered procedure, a tax-free lump sum payment will be paid. Covered critical illnesses, as defined in your policy, are;
